Finally! Google updated it’s pagerank across the board, which has been expected ever since April 15th. Egonitron.com is a Page Rank 6! Having only been up for a couple of months, it shocked me a little bit, but I’m certainly not complaining.
Your Google Toolbar may not reflect this yet, and the Search Status plugin doesn’t either. I don’t really know when to expect these to update.
Right now a little less than half of Googles 72 Datacenters are showing my pagerank as 6, but hopefully those will update soon. Check it out here: Rank Alert
I would like to thank all of my readers. I promise I’ll get the theme and functions updated soon!

Congrats on getting PR6.
Hi kudos for getting PR6, i hope you will increase your pr6 to better values:)
Btw, you may want to promote your readers/commentators with a Top Commentators plug-in. (Just an idea)
Thanks! Among many other things, I plan on using the top commentators plugin to reward commenters. I haven’t done much with it yet because I plan on a redesign.
Wow. PR6 in just a couple of months. What do you attribute that to? I’ve been up since March and I’m only a PR3. Any tips?
Thanks,
Sara
@Sara: There are a few things that in combination I believe helped with the surprisingly high page rank. First of all, the content that I did have up before then was apparently pretty good. My Alexa ranking was already kind of high for only being up for a couple months, which showed that there were plenty of visitors, which I attribute to the subject matter.
Blogging is big right now, and people like to link to other “blogger-bloggers,” if that makes sense. Another thing I believe helped was my theme. Even though it’s boring (I plan to switch soon,) it’s a very SEO-friendly Wordpress theme (TechnoBlue.)
Also, I’m very active in the blogging community, and regularly comment on other blogs. That happens to bring on some traffic too, and when you’re commenting on similar subject matter, that really helps.
I’m really thankful to have such a great reader base already, my first blog took a long time to get readers, and I’m sure having done it before helped out as well.
The most important thing though is creating quality, unique content that brings value to the readers. That type of content tends to get linked to a lot, and nothing helps page rank more than being linked to from other blogs, especially if they have a high reader base.
Thanks. I’m building my rank slowly but surely. It’s the first blog I’ve seriously tried to promote so I’ve got a learning curve. Thanks for all the great advice. =)
