The iPhone and the Transformers Movie have a lot in common. Both were very talked up to the point where you weren’t sure if they would live up to the hype. Actually, that’s the only thing they have in common, because unlike the iPhone, the Transformers Movie not only lived up to it’s hype, but completely blew past it. I knew it was going to be a good movie, but I had a little bit of doubt, thinking it might not be as good as everyone said it was going to be. Boy, was I wrong.

I went to the first showing (8 PM on July 2nd,) and considered going to see it again at the 11 PM viewing. It was nothing short of amazing. In fact it’s the first movie I’ve ever been to where throughout the movie, the crowd started cheering on multiple occasions. Like when we first saw Optimus Prime, that was sweet.

So I guess when the DVD comes out I’m going to have to get a new surround sound system; my old surround stopped working, and there’s no way I’m listening to this movie on puny TV speakers.

Update: And it’s kicking ass at the box office
